Good morning! I usually feel that way on most mornings. Especially if I got up on time and actually got my day started well and some mornings are not so good. Especially because the word good is so ambiguous, isn’t it. Somedays you say that to someone and they may look at you like you have two heads, but just saying the words out loud makes me have a different perspective then the way I feel sometimes. Saying something out loud gives power to words and thoughts.
Simon Boylan said, “As long as we still draw breath, we each have the power to bring change into the world.” I believe that to be so true. I believe that a “Good morning” from me to someone else may change their day. I believe that the words spoken out loud may change my day. A smile to someone, a kind word, a holding of the door open for a needy person can change their day.
Somedays I need that! I wake up some days ill tempered. I had four children, many mornings did not go as planned. All of us were not on the same page, but if someone spoke a kind word or offered a kind gesture it changed the way I felt about the moment.
I believe we can change someone’s day, maybe someones moment. Honestly I need my moment changed sometimes. So give it a try. Today when you go to grocery store or market and the clerk seems out of sorts offer a smile, a word of encouragement. Offer a small piece of yourself that does not cost anything.
Honestly everyone can use encouragement. Speaking to someone may not change the world. It may only change one persons direction for their day. You may never even know you changed it for them. The struggle that they have now in this moment maybe too great for you to “change it”. You can change the moment they are in. Try it, what have we to lose in trying to change someone’s day?
