How to Choose Bedroom Window Treatments

Picking bedroom window treatments is always a big deal to me. I deliberate over these kinds of things for a long time.  I think about them for a long time because I have to live with them for a long time. I do not change my decor around very often.  So how do you choose the right window treatments?

1. They have to be economical.  I am going to have these window treatments for a very long time.  I have other things I usually want to buy and so I want the best value for my dollar.  I think most people feel this way about their purchases.  There is not unlimited funds, so the price and value does matter to me.
2. The window treatments need to look good as well.  I am going to have to look at them for a long time, because next season window treatments are not the thing I want to replace. Maybe pillows, but not window treatments.
3. The kind of blinds I buy had to be safe.  I looked at only cordless blinds. The reason I mentioned this is because I have grandchildren and it was brought to my attention recently that every two weeks a child is strangled by a blind cord.  That is a number that is staggering and I can not believe factories still make them. I have heard the blind cord will be outlawed in 2019. I hope that is true.
4. The blinds needed to be light filtering but did not have to be darkening. The ones in our bedroom are darkening blinds but the other bedrooms are not.

After thinking about what I was looking for I searched a lot of websites. I ended up choosing these window treatments.  I love them. They are clean looking and can easily be lowered.  My daughter also mentioned that the treatments darken the room a good bit.

Anything you have to look at everyday and live with for a long time should be thought about for a little while.  There are some decisions, like window treatments and bed covers, that I think on.  I do not like to rush into them.  I want to be happy with the decision I make and I do not want to send them back. So remember the things you should consider.

• Are the treatments a good value?
• Are they attractive?
• Are the treatments safe?
• Are the window treatments functional and practical?

I hope we will enjoy them for many years to come.  I think they are a very good price point and the safety of being cordless is a bonus for me.
